The Pink of the Seams - Sanna Wani - Fine Press
What does imagining being a bird have to teach us about being human? Sanna Wani and Penrose Press have your flightless feelings covered in this original collection of poetry and art.
The Pink of the Seams has been carefully designed, letterpress printed, and handmade. It's an unbound book collected within a blind-embossed button-string envelope. There are 12 poems, each with a full page art-print on the reverse, as well as a 3-poem epilogue also accompanied by art. All of the art was designed and executed by Brianna Tosswill and printed via polymer plates on a Vandercook No. 4T Proof Press. The poems were all printed on the same press from hand-set lead type. For anyone who is unfamiliar, the way that this book is printed means that you can feel a physical impression in the page if you touch it gently.
The collection is printed on warm white Jacob Cover and warm white Stonehenge acid-free cotton rag papers with oil based ink by Gamblin. The rivets in the envelope are brass and the string closure is cotton. Each print has been blind embossed with a chop mark for authenticity. The Pink of the Seams was published in a limited edition of 40 envelopes. A paperback version is also available.
