On How to Become a Bird - Song
This is a double sided print: poem on one side, art on the reverse.
The poem is from the epilogue "On How to Become a Bird" from the collection The Pink of the Seams by Sanna Wani. It is printed from hand-set lead-type on a Vandercook No. 4T Proof Press. The font is Monotype Lydian which is most commonly associated with 1940's editions of Nancy Drew Mystery book covers.
The art is printed from polymer plates designed by Brianna Tosswill. Each image is made from a single plate, inked and printed in two different colours with a 180 degree rotation. The third colour is the overlap of the two base colours.
You can feel a slight indent everywhere that has been printed if you touch the art softly. Each print has been editioned and blind embossed with a chop mark for authenticity.
