The wind will take me where I need to go

10 left in the edition

In this room I designed for my dad, I was thinking about how much he loves boats. This is a man who used to sit in a canoe on the grass in our yard, reading sailing magazines, a man who named one of his sailboats "Fourth Child", a man who, in designing his own boat hulls, made quarter scale models and tested them in our pool with jugs of water to represent his weight, and my mom's. But especially small, wooden, sailboats have captured his heart. You can read his thoughts about this here.

This is the first print in my new series Notions of Comfort, and since I am saving several of each image for a modular, sculptural end-game, only 15 of the edition of 25 are available for purchase at this time.

  • linocut reduction in which the matrix (linoleum) ceases to be by the end of printing.
  • Inverted from regular reduction (printing dark to light on dark paper)
  • limited edition of 25.
  • signed and editioned along the bottom edge, title is letterpress printed.
  • The image area measures 10x12" (25x30cm)
  • The paper measures 12x14.5" (30x36cm) and is a sheet of Chitose Dark Green washi paper.
  • Printed with rubber based Vanson ink, which is lightfast and will not fade over time.
  • Last layer is screen printed.
  • It is part of Notions of Comfort
