Learning my self worth > Earning my self worth

This room for Madi features an interior skatepark: pink and glowing with hanging vines, and multiple iterations of the same character. There are also a couple of affirming poem fragments in the form of graffiti. It's part of my Notions of Comfort series called "Learning my self worth > Earning my self worth". 

What I love about it: the saturated colour and experimental "lighting" give this a dreamy vibe that echoes the subject matter, combining reality and magic.

• reduction linocut in which the matrix is destroyed over the course of repeated carving and printing. (5 layers total)
• printed on thin, dark green Chitose paper.
• rubber and oil based inks that will not fade over time.
• 12x12" image area on 14x15" paper.
• title printed below the bottom edge of the image in lead type as part of the editioning.
